Sidewalks: Connecting Our Community

In Wedgewood Houston, we understand that sidewalks are more than just concrete paths - they're lifelines for families and individuals with limited mobility. They represent safety, accessibility, and community connection. That's why we're thrilled to announce a significant improvement to our neighborhood infrastructure.

For too long, the intersection of Humphreys and Martin has lacked a critical sidewalk connection, impacting access to our beloved community playground. Today, we're proud to share some exciting news that will change this.

A big thank you goes out to SomeraRoad, who has generously provided and installed the missing sidewalk at no cost to our community. This act of kindness demonstrates their commitment to making Wedgewood Houston a model for mobility options and their dedication to working with community members to enhance our neighborhood.

This new sidewalk not only improves safety and accessibility but also brings us one step closer to our vision of a fully connected, walkable community. It's a shining example of how local businesses can partner with residents to create positive change.

In other exciting news, we recently met with Andrew Donchez, who reaffirmed his full commitment to our neighborhood. After some delays from Metro Council, we're pleased to announce that his company is now mobilizing resources for their announced projects in Wedgewood Houston. This move promises to bring new energy and opportunities to our area.

As we celebrate these developments, let's remember that each improvement, no matter how small, contributes to making Wedgewood Houston an even better place to live, work, and play. Together, we're building a neighborhood that prioritizes mobility, accessibility, and community spirit.

Let's continue to work together to identify and address the needs of all our residents. If you have ideas for future improvements or want to get involved, please reach out to Wedgewood Houston Social, your neighborhood group. Your voice matters in shaping the future of Wedgewood Houston!
