Residents Relieved After Suspect Captured Without Incident

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD) has announced the arrest of Juan Ramirez-Guerra, 29, in connection with the fatal shooting of Edin Delacruz-Reyes, 28, recently.

Ramirez-Guerra was apprehended today by detectives from the MNPD's TITANS Unit. He is being charged with criminal homicide and will be booked into the Metro Nashville Jail.

Residents of the Wedgewood Houston neighborhood may have noticed an increased law enforcement presence in the area today as authorities prepared for and executed the arrest. This included unmarked police vehicles and armed Metro police officers stationed throughout the neighborhood.

"It was a tense morning," said James M., a longtime resident of Wedgewood Houston. "I saw all the armed officer, and couldn’t imagine what was unfolding. I'm glad they were able to make the arrest and bring some closure to this tragic incident."
