Historic Merritt Mansion Reimagined as Mixed-Use Community in Wedgewood-Houston

A historic architectural gem in Nashville's trendy Wedgewood-Houston district is being artfully transformed into a dynamic new mixed-use destination called Merritt Mansion. Developer [Company Name] has unveiled plans to breathe new life into the century-old mansion while adding complementary residential and commercial spaces.

Originally built in 1908, the three-story Merritt Mansion sits prominently at the corner of Merritt Avenue and Houston Street. The Neoclassical-style mansion will be meticulously restored and renovated to house 12 luxury condominiums and 8,000 square feet of retail and restaurant spaces.

The condos will range from one to three-bedrooms, featuring highest-end finishes like Italian marble counters, historic millwork, beamed ceilings and other preserved architectural details that pay homage to the building's storied past. A private garden courtyard and rooftop terrace will offer residents outdoor amenity spaces

Surrounding the historic mansion, two new six-story buildings will be constructed containing an additional 165 contemporary apartment homes as well as 40,000 square feet of Class A office space. The new buildings are being designed by [Architecture Firm] to blend contemporary and industrial aesthetics reflective of Wedgewood-Houston's artistic vibe.

Apartments will offer upscale amenities like a resort-style pool courtyard, club-quality fitness center, coworking spaces, pet spa and rooftop skydeck. The office spaces will feature open floorplans with exposed ceilings to foster a collaborative environment.

Merritt Mansion's public spaces will be activated with ground-floor retail, restaurants with sidewalk patios, public art installations, widened streetscapes and a central landscaped plaza programmed for community events.

The $115 million mixed-use development looks to celebrate Wedgewood-Houston's rich architectural heritage while injecting new mixed-use energy. Restoration of the Merritt Mansion kicks off in late 2024, with the overall project scheduled for completion in 2027. Merritt Mansion will provide a truly unique lifestyleHub in this eclectic Nashville neighborhood.
